Listeners of The Wake Up With Dee Morning Show recently got a taste of one of Atlanta's most anticipated Father's Day events when Patty Garrett, Event Manager for the 11th Annual Family Food Fest Atlanta, joined host Dr. Dee Dawkins-Haigler on News & Talk WAOK.
During the interview, Garrett shared details about the exciting celebration that has become a beloved tradition for families across Metro Atlanta. Family Food Fest Atlanta is a multicultural Father's Day charity fundraiser and food-tasting festival created by founder Diane Larché and produced annually by Atlanta Culinary Charities, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to working with boys and girls through after-school and weekend programs.
The event honors fathers and the men who make a positive impact on their families and communities while bringing people together through food, fellowship, and family-friendly entertainment.
Scheduled for Sunday, June 21, 2026, Family Food Fest Atlanta will take place at the John H. Harland Boys & Girls Club, located at 434 Peeples Street SW in Atlanta, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Garrett explained that attendees can expect an afternoon filled with delicious food, live entertainment, and activities designed for all ages. One of the festival's biggest attractions is the opportunity to sample an incredible variety of foods from talented chefs, cooks, caterers, restaurants, and community members showcasing their culinary skills. From savory appetizers and flavorful entrées to decadent desserts and refreshing beverages, guests will enjoy an all-you-can-eat tasting experience included with admission.
The festival will also feature a variety of special attractions, including:
• Food Tastings
• Chef Demonstrations
• Food Judging Competitions
• Live DJ Entertainment
• Kids Zone Activities
• Health Pavilion Screenings and Resources
• Raffle Prizes and Giveaways
Attendees will also have the opportunity to sample vegan and vegetarian dishes while learning from culinary professionals through live cooking demonstrations. The Kids Zone will offer fun activities such as face painting, balloon art, caricatures, and cotton candy, ensuring there is something for every member of the family to enjoy.
In addition to celebrating food and family, the event serves an important charitable purpose. Proceeds help support the mission of Atlanta Culinary Charities, which works to provide educational and enrichment opportunities for young people throughout the community.
Garrett emphasized that Family Food Fest Atlanta is designed to be more than just a food festival—it's a community celebration that creates lasting memories while recognizing the contributions of fathers and father figures who help strengthen families and neighborhoods.
