LaToya Dwight, a uterine fibroid survivor was a guest on, On Point with Juandolyn Stokes to share about her 10-year struggle with uterine fibroids and how she overcame her struggle to help others.

Dwight Is holding her Inaugural Run F.A.R 5K Run/Walk on July 24. It is a 2-day event beginning with a Fibroid Brunch, an educational event at the Hyatt House and Day 2 is the actual Run/Walk event, which will include live music, ponies, and lots of energy!

She founded, The Fibroid Pandemic and has worked since 2019 to help other “humans with a uterus” heal from fibroids, which are non-cancerous tumors on the uterus.

Dwight realized through her journey that there are millions of women who also suffer in silence.

She urges women who have menstrual cycles that last more than 10 days, have painful intercourse, are lethargic or are anemic, which are some of the symptoms she experienced- to take control of their health by seeking help.

A portion of the proceeds raised from the 2-day event will go towards “Pad the Pandemic,” a non-profit organization that seeks to end period poverty and unnecessary hysterectomies.
