Bell shares with Stokes there is $989 million dollars to be allocated to Georgia residents who are behind in their rent or utilities. They also discuss back rent can be paid up to 18 months behind.

Bell explains that landlords and tenants can apply together. The qualifications for this program are based on your current financial situations, not pre-pandemic. Bell tells Stokes those with incomes below 80% of median income around $56,000 per year with special consideration for with income 50% below the median income around $36,000 per year.

Bell says those who receive Section 8 can also apply for assistance. The application process It takes about 3-4 weeks to process with all requirements and documentation included.
