Contributor Angela Greene, The Producer of WAOK's number 1 talk show, On Point with Juandolyn Stokes is one of thirty Black women who are part of the inaugural group of radio broadcasters being inducted into an interdisciplinary educational project for research with Black Women in Radio (BWIR).

BWIR is an organization created in 2017 to celebrate and recognize the contributions of Black women in radio who are often excluded from recognition. The goal is to acknowledge the value of all women who have contributed to the art of radio.

The Black Women in Radio Collection and Oral History is curated by radio veteran, and educator, Felesha Love, who is also the Founder and President of BWIR. The collection will offer scholarly research and memorable contributions to radio history. Moreover, the collection seeks to examine the disparities of female broadcasters of color.

"When I developed BWIR 5 years ago, I set out to create a platform to celebrate career contributions of my peers and amplify their voices, but that wasn't enough. I wanted to significantly change the trajectory of how we are viewed," said Love.

Greene's career in radio began in 1986. She has worked at several radio stations in the Atlanta market including WCLK, WFOX, WALR, WSB-FM, WVEE, WAOK, and WPGN. She is also an executive board member of BWIR.

"I am proud to know my work in radio and my legacy will be acknowledged and documented in partnership with the Library of Congress's Radio Preservation Task Force (RPTF), and the Atlanta University Center Robert Woodruff Library; it just doesn't get much better than that. Furthermore, I am delighted to see women finally getting our just due," said Greene.

Greene's inaugural class includes National Media Talent and Celebrity Coach, Dyana Williams, Media Talent, and Executive, Helen Little, and Nationally Syndicated Personalities, Jasmine Sanders, and Angela Yee.
