Ms. Wong shared the organization's journey detailing how Reflections of Trinity transitioned from a thrift store to a comprehensive service provider. The nonprofit now offers food, clothing, and furniture to families affected by domestic violence, floods, fires, and other hardships. Recognizing the need for additional support, Reflections of Trinity opened a food pantry that operates on Saturdays, providing essential items to working families who may not be able to access food pantries during the week. Over time, the pantry's reach has expanded, now serving over 1,200 families each week and helping more than 8,000 individuals monthly.
The nonprofit's food is primarily sourced from the Atlanta Community Food Bank, which provides discounted food for charitable organizations. Reflections of Trinity also collaborates with grocery stores and other retailers to collect perishable items that would otherwise go to waste. In addition to local efforts, Reflections of Trinity has worked to make a global impact, supporting an orphanage in Kenya for over 15 years and providing aid to a hospital in Haiti.
Reflections of Trinity recently expanded its services by opening a benefits office to assist individuals with accessing food stamps, WIC, and other government services. This office provides extended hours, including weekends, to accommodate people who may not be able to apply during regular business hours. This addition reflects the organization's commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its community.
Looking ahead to the holiday season, the organization is seeking donations of food and toys to support its mission. Last year, Reflections of Trinity provided food to nearly 1,700 families for Thanksgiving, and it plans to continue these efforts during Christmas. With the help of its volunteers and donors, Reflections of Trinity aims to provide much-needed assistance to families in need.
