Tiger Joyce, President of the American Tort Reform Association told On Point with Juandolyn Stokes listeners that Georgia is named as the worst judicial hellhole in the country.

The American Tort Reform Foundation's (ATRF) Judicial Hellholes report highlights rampant legal abuse in nine locations across the country and Georgia is the line leader for the second year in a row.

According to Joyce, this is a 20-year-old report, which highlights the most problematic jurisdictions in Georgia. Premises liability and excessive liabilities are two main areas of concern. Overall, this impacts the judgments in excesses of $10 million.

He added, hellholes are places where plaintiffs want to bring cases, where judges police their dockets.

"Litigation tourism courts exist to serve the interest of the communities and they get backed up when they do not," said Joyce.

Joyce says, we are in the business promoting improvement and reforms of civil litigations. People seek compensation for matters.
