Recently on "Wake Up With Dee" Host Dr. Dee Dawkins-Haigler spoke with president of the East Suburban Atlanta Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Dr. Sha'Ronda McRae about the chapter's current and upcoming initiatives.

Jack and Jill of America, Inc., a national organization focused on enriching the lives of African American children, has been active in the East Suburban Atlanta area for over 15 years. Dr. McRae highlighted the chapter's preparations for its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, a major community event that will take place in January and more amazing things they are doing.
Dr. McRae also shared information about an important upcoming event scheduled for March 2025. The event will feature 21 young African American men, all of whom have participated in a yearlong program designed to prepare them for life after high school. The program includes mentorship, leadership training, and community service, with the goal of equipping these young men with the skills needed to make a positive impact in their communities.
In addition to these initiatives, Dr. McRae discussed the chapter's Party with a Purpose event. This event brings together teens from across the Atlanta metro area for a social gathering on the historic college campus. The event is designed to provide a safe, enjoyable space for teens to socialize, while also exposing them to the college environment and encouraging them to think about higher education.
As the holiday season approaches, Dr. McRae shared how her family plans to celebrate. She emphasized the importance of "rest, reset, and reflect," focusing on gratitude and family togetherness during the holidays. Dr. McRae also mentioned that her family would engage in meaningful discussions about their future, particularly in light of recent elections, as they look ahead to 2025.
Finally, Dr. McRae shared the exciting news that her husband, has been appointed as the new state court judge for Rockdale County. She expressed pride in his achievement and noted that it represents another milestone in their family's ongoing commitment to service.
