Starting Friday (February 18) at 9pm, the Red Line will be shutdown south of the Dunwoody station. The transit agency will be replacing heavy rail between the Buckhead and Medical Center stations. The Track Replacement Project is a multi-year effort that involves replacing track and switches throughout the rail system. It's part of a $225 million dollar investment, according to MARTA, that "will enhance the safety of the rail system, reduce train delays, and improve the customer experience."

The service will resume at 4 a.m. on February 24th.

MARTA Project Manager Keli Davis tells Audacy Atlanta's Maria Boynton the service will resume on Thursday, February 24 at 4 a.m. "During the shutdown free bus shuttles will connect to Dunwoody, Medical Center, Buckhead, and Lenox stations and run continuously," says Davis.

For passengers preferring to use Uber or Lyft, Davis says MARTA is providing $15 vouchers. She says the customer is responsible for any amount over $15 per trip and will not receive a credit for any trip less than $15. The voucher can be downloaded using the QR codes in MARTA rail stations, off MARTA’s social media accounts (see below), or by clicking on one of the following:

According to MARTA, customers who normally drive and park at North Springs, Sandy Springs, and Dunwoody stations for southbound service should consider parking at Doraville or Lindbergh stations during the project. Rail service north of Dunwoody and south of Lindbergh, and service on the Gold Line and Blue and Green Lines (east/west) will operate normally.
