In a recent interview on The Rashad Richey Morning Show, Congressman Hank Johnson underscored the urgency of Supreme Court reform, emphasizing the need to counterbalance what he described as a court "packed" with right-wing justices.

Congressman Johnson, a veteran lawmaker serving his ninth term, highlighted his role in advocating for judicial reform, particularly at the Supreme Court. He criticized the current composition of the court as skewed towards right-wing ideology, calling for immediate measures to restore balance and judicial independence. Ms. Johnson proposed expanding the Supreme Court by adding four seats, a move he believes essential to offsetting what he perceives as a "six, three super majority" of conservative justices appointed during previous administrations.

Ms. Greene questioned Congressman Johnson on President Biden's decision not to expand the court initially, to which Congressman Johnson responded with a call for evolving governmental strategies, emphasizing the need for immediate reforms rather than prolonged discussions. He stressed the importance of legislative action to institute term limits for Supreme Court justices and enforce ethical standards, which he argues are currently lacking.

The interview delved into Project 2025, a contentious plan Congressman Johnson linked to a historic memo by Lewis Powell advocating corporate influence over education and media. He tied this historical context to current efforts by groups like the Heritage Foundation to reshape American governance, framing it as a threat to democratic principles and individual rights.

The conversation also touched upon economic disparities and social divisions perpetuated by political maneuvers, with Congressman Johnson accusing proponents of Project 2025 of exploiting racial and socioeconomic tensions to maintain power. He emphasized the importance of unity and informed civic participation to counteract these divisive tactics.
