In a recent interview on the WAOK Morning Show, grandson of Fred Trump and nephew of former President Donald Trump, Fred Trump III discussed his new book, All in the Family: The Trumps and How We Got This Way, as well as his advocacy for the intellectually and developmentally disabled community.

Fred spoke about the challenges faced by families of individuals with disabilities, highlighting the difficulties in finding suitable programs and support once children age out of the school system. He emphasized the need for better caregiver training and funding, revealing that many caregivers work multiple low-paying jobs.

Fred also addressed his personal experiences as a father to his son, William, who requires extensive care. He shared a distressing interaction he had with Donald Trump regarding William's care, recalling a moment in the Oval Office where Donald allegedly expressed indifference toward the disabled community. "Those people—the ones with disabilities—the cost, they should just die," Fred said, detailing the painful impact of that sentiment.

The discussion turned to the broader dynamics within the Trump family, including the lack of emotional support historically fostered by their grandfather. Fred stated that this harsh upbringing has influenced Donald's behavior. He pointed out that Donald often portrays entire communities as enemies and criticized his recent comments about the Haitian community.

Amid these challenging family dynamics, Fred Trump III continues to focus on advocacy, driven by his love for his son and a desire to improve conditions for those like him. He concluded by underlining the importance of compassion and respect within society and how his family's history has fueled his commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities.
