Former President Donald Trump has been discharged from the hospital following an attempted assassination at a rally in Pennsylvania.
Trump was quickly escorted off the stage by the Secret Service on Saturday after gunshots were fired, narrowly missing him. The perpetrator, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from Pennsylvania, was subsequently killed by law enforcement.
Unfortunately, one attendee lost their life in the incident, while two others remain in critical condition, according to law enforcement sources cited by NBC News.
Video footage shows Trump recoiling and clutching his ear before falling to the ground. Secret Service agents promptly surrounded him and safely escorted him to his vehicle. Blood was visible on the right side of his head.
President Joe Biden addressed the nation on Saturday evening, condemning the violence and affirming that such acts have no place in America.
Initially planning to spend the weekend in Delaware, Biden changed his plans and returned to Washington later in the evening.
