Traveling from Atlanta to Savannah stopping in-between, they have braved the rain and the Georgia heat over 3 days so far. They're walking 12 miles each day.

Brook Bacon is calling on the public to join the march in an effort to bring attention to the case surrounding the death of his father, 60 year old Julian Lewis on August 7, 2020. Lewis was shot and killed by a Georgia State Trooper.
The trooper, Jacob Gordon Thompson, stopped Lewis using a PIT manuever and then shot Lewis in the head. Lewis had apparently been stopped for a non-working taillight. It happened in Screven County, Georgia, a little more than 3 hours west of Atlanta.

While the Georgia Bureau of Investigation determined that what happened to Lewis was murder and the trooper was fired, the grand jury didn't see it that way. The panel chose not to indict the ex-trooper saying there wasn't enough evidence.
Bacon wants federal prosecutors to get involved in the case. Family lawyer Mawuli Davis calls it "deeply disturbing" and "unthinkable that this grand jury could have heard the same evidence and come to the conclusion that this was not murder."
Those interested in participating in the 5-day walk can log on to the Justice for Julian Lewis website.
