This week on, OPWJS, Juandolyn was joined by the Senior Director of People for the American Way, Diallo Brooks. Brooks shared information about his organization's efforts to seek the support of the Federal government to protect voting rights.

Thursday's ruling by the Supreme Court, upholding Arizona's efforts to suppress votes is an example why elections matter [all of them, not just the presidential elections]. Brooks says we must stay focused on preparedness when it comes to protecting our right to vote including giving rides to the polls.

Brooks acknowledges the absurdity in allowing one to pass out flyers to voters but not water or food to people who are standing in long lines. He adds, when you see such efforts to restrict your vote, you know your vote is valuable.
