R&R SkinCare, a woman-owned beauty brand, which uses African Shea-based products, which will be on display in Bloomingdales at Lenox Square this weekend with an interactive popup as part of Atlanta Fashion Week.
R&R's Founder, Valerie Obaze, began her skincare line in 2010 in her country of Ghana following the birth of her daughter. Obaze uses cruelty-free, woman-produced natural products.
"Shea is amazing and it has been around a long time," said Obaze.
R&R Skincare offers a full range of products including body oils, whipped butter, body bombs, and lotions. Additionally, they have products from the Baobab tree, known as the tree of life. Balboa is a super ingredient with powders, teas, and repair oil.
The popup at Bloomingdale's will offer an intimate setting for which customers can explore and learn African beauty secrets and test the products before they buy them.
However, Obaze says she is sure, once you use them, you will want to use them forever,
While R&R Skincare does not claim to treat conditions clinically like hyperpigmentation, acne or eczema experienced by Black women, they do treat them naturally.
Obaze says she wanted to create a brand that not only Africans can continue using as a super ingredient, but also to share with the rest of the world who haven't had the chance to experience shea.
Obaze said, "At R&R we believe in the beauty of natural ingredients and the power they hold. Our expansion to the U.S. is not just about offering our products but sharing our story and the traditions."
The popups will take Saturday from 12:00 p.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00p.m.-6:00 p.m.
