The Pink Frog Affair will celebrate breast cancer survivors and honor the memories of loved ones with an evening of poetry, music, and dance tonight, Friday, Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Martin Luther King International Chapel at Morehouse College. The event is hosted by founders, Tammy and Robert Bolton and the featured musical guest is gospel artist and choir master, Dr. Ricky Dillard.

Dillard is well-known in the gospel community, and he has been in the industry for four decades. He has been recognized for his work by the Stellar Awards, Dove Awards, and the Grammy's.

Dillard also recognized WAOK for its support of his music throughout the years as it was once a gospel station. He reminisced about coming to the WAOK studio for live interviews.

What many people might not know is that Dillard started his musical career in Chicago House music, where he was introduced by DJ Frankie Knuckles.

"I had a dream to record, and God allowed me to step into the arena of House music. I did some 12-inch singles and some solo albums. I enjoyed my time in House and to be legendary. You might see me go to the [house music] stage," said Dillard.

Tonight's celebration is all about breast cancer survivors. Dillard said he got a call to perform for which he was grateful because breast cancer is one of women's greatest fears.

He added, "We must remember God is a healer. God can and God will."

"We are looking forward to tomorrow's celebration because it will be a celebration for those who have been through and God spared their lives…And to know there is still something God can do for you," said Dillard.

Ticket prices start at $50 and proceeds from the event will benefit breast cancer patients who are undergoing treatment.

Dillard says you can expect him and his amazing Choir, for which he is known as a choirmaster.

"I thank sister Tammy and brother Rob for inviting me," he added.
