Candidates for political office in Atlanta recently participated in in-person interviews and written questionnaires in which they were scored based on their answers on some critical issues.

The survey was conducted by the Committee for a Better Atlanta or CBA, a nonpartisan business coalition that includes Atlanta's top business and civic organizations.

CBA's Tiffany Callaway Ferrell tells Audacy Atlanta's Maria Boynton that 12 of the 14 candidates for Atlanta Mayor participated in the questioning process. Five mayoral candidates scored "Excellent" or "Well-Qualified," as did four of the five candidates for City Council President. Candidates for Atlanta City Council also participated. Eighty percent of those races are contested.

Full questionnaires and scores for participating candidates can be seen here.

According to Ferrell CBA has produced what it calls a comprehensive voters guide that includes scores for candidates based on their positions related to the CBA Policy Platform, which addresses critical issues in the areas of: Public Safety, Economic Development and Recovery, Affordable Housing, Ethics/Transparency, Transportation, City Leadership, and Sustainability, among others.

Ferrell serves as vice president of operations for Atlanta Gas Light and Chattanooga Gas Companies.
