Recently on "Let's Talk About It" with the Turners, CEO of HEG Solutions and renowned political strategist, Fredrick Hicks provided valuable insights into the current political landscape and the upcoming election.

Mr. Hicks, a leading demographer and pollster known for successfully guiding candidates to office, emphasized that the upcoming election is far from settled. He discussed the importance of both the popular vote and the Electoral College in determining the next president, noting that narrow margins are expected in key states.

The conversation also highlighted recent developments in election laws. In states like Nebraska and Maine, efforts are underway to change how electoral votes are allocated, which could significantly influence the election's outcome. These changes are raising concerns about the integrity of the electoral process, particularly as the election approaches.

In Georgia, similar issues have emerged with the state board of elections. A new rule requiring hand counting of ballots has created confusion among election workers and raised questions about potential errors. Mr. Hicks pointed out that implementing such changes just weeks before the election could complicate the process and undermine public confidence in the voting system.

The discussion also touched on the impact of these rule changes on voter turnout, especially within the Black community. Mr. Hicks highlighted that if votes were not significant, there wouldn't be efforts to alter the rules surrounding them, encouraging listeners to stay engaged and informed.
