The conversation also turned to the issue of double standard policing, with Dr. West expressing his deep concern about the unequal treatment of black and brown communities by law enforcement depending if you are on the "chocolate" part of town in reference to Sonya Massey who was fatally shot by an Illinois deputy. He highlighted the need for comprehensive police reform, including accountability measures and community oversight, to address the systemic racism and bias that pervades the criminal justice system.
As Juandolyn Stokes spoke on a topic that is top of mind, Project 2025, West mentioned that is a product of fascism, inducing fear brought to you by the powerful and the wealthy, organized greed and how it could lead to a Civil War with social unrest. As this inspiring conversation came to a close, Stokes asked how can we use our voices and Dr. West replied" Using Integrity, honesty decency and consistency" "Justice is what love looks like in Public"
