A recent poll conducted by HEG Solutions revealed that voters in Fulton County, Georgia, are overwhelmingly against appointed judges and strongly support the election of the chief Magistrate Judge. The bipartisan agreement on this issue is rare, according to CEO of HEG Solutions and renowned political strategist, Fredrick Hicks, who discussed the results and the recent New Hampshire primary victory by former President Donald Trump in an interview on The Rashad Richey Morning Show.
According to the poll results, almost 90% of respondents reject the idea of appointed judges and having an appointed chief Magistrate Judge. "People across the county, regardless of political affiliation, strongly desire to elect their judges and want to keep the power to elect the chief judge, Magistrate Judge," Mr. Hicks explained.
"When you approach 90%, right – in anything that's a very, very strong statement. People feel very strongly about this." Mr. Hicks emphasized that the impact of the court should not be understated, and that people recognize this, which is why they want the ability to vote for judges.
Mr. Hicks also discussed the upcoming US election, and the various strategies employed by each candidate to secure victory. He believes that Trump might push for appointing judges instead of electing them and freezing investigations into himself. Mr. Hicks highlighted the significance of understanding these potential strategies and urged voters to look beyond superficial information and analyze the policy decisions made by the candidates.
Mr. Hicks emphasized the potential selection of Tim Scott, the only Black Republican senator, as Trump's vice-presidential running mate. He suggested that this choice may serve as a long-term strategy for Scott, positioning himself for a future presidential nomination, possibly in 2028. Mr. Hicks urged listeners to recognize that abstaining from voting would indirectly support Donald Trump's candidacy. He emphasized the importance of active participation in democracy, encouraging voters to exercise their right to make their voices heard.
