Terrance L. Hayes, The White House Press Secretary, Department of Veterans Affair joined On Point with Juandolyn Stokes to share about the Biden-Harris Administration’s historic efforts to support veterans and their families.
According to Hayes, President Biden said, “ We must care for them just as they care for us.”
As part of their effort to care for veterans, the administration has signed into law nearly 30 bipartisan bills including the PACT Act, which addresses specific needs for veterans.
“President Biden has shown nothing but a full out commitment to veterans,” said Hayes.
That commitment includes their Housing First Initiative, which will offer wrap-around services in addition to housing.
Hayes says the administration exceeded their goal of housing 38,000 veterans with a final count of 41,000; that same goal is on track to be met by the end of this year.
“No man or woman who has served this country so graciously should have to face homelessness,” said Hayes.
