On Point with Juandolyn Stokes hosted a panel discussion with law enforcement professionals, Faye Cofield of Owner of Faye Cofield Private Investigations and Retired Captain with the Georgia State Patrol, Nikki Renfroe who discussed Policing in America. Our guests were able to unpack the details on Special Forces Units, The Culture of Policing, and the Blue Wall of Silence.

"The Blue Wall of Silence is not as high as people think," said Cofield.

Renfroe added, "Bad cops run in packs and they know each other."

Both Cofield and Renfroe agreed the video of Tyre Nichols beating in Memphis on January 7 reminded them of the Rodney King beating video from 1991, but was worse. Renfroe said," Memphis Police Chief, Cerelyn "CJ" Davis had no choice but to dissolve the SCORPION Special Forces Unit." Cofield wondered why no sergeant or other higher-ranking officer was not at the scene of Nichols traffic stop.

Cofield believes the United States desperately needs independent agencies at the Federal level, but are not a part of the Department of Justice. She also believes the community should demand more and better from police departments.

According to Renfroe, the traffic stop was incorrect from the start.

"They had complete tunnel vision, group-think. They went in on him (Nichols) until they got tired, and they were out of shape."
