Recently Juandolyn Stokes hosted a panel discussion on climate change in the community. The Panel shares with Stokes that the climate crisis is real especially in our community.

They tell Stokes the inclement weather we are experiencing effects people of color. Some of these effects include, Green Building- problems with infrastructure being poorly insulated which contribute to greenhouse gases. They go on to say greenhouse gases are caused by emissions from transportation; new sidewalks and bike lanes could minimize this problem.


The Panel continues with saying buildings manufactured cheaply are leaky, this effects the inside and outside creating an economic injustice for rentals. Additionally clean air and clean water is necessary in our buildings. They tell Stokes the global health crisis is it's getting hotter that affects every element our lives.

The Panel says children and adults suffering from breathing conditions due metal, mental deficiencies and birth defects, additionally cancer is rising in communities of color due climate change. In fact, extreme heat has negative affect on black communities. The Panel tells Stokes extreme weather events affect communities of color such as flooding, no evacuation routes, global and local health crisis and more.

Climate impact is a moral imperative.
