Falcons cornerback and 2020 first-round pick A.J. Terrell had arguably the best season of any rookie CB taken in the draft.
When Pro Football Focus came out with their rookie positional rankings late in the season, A.J. Terrell graded out as the No. 1 CB.
Only five defensive rookies in the NFL have played at least 50% of their team's snaps and graded 60.5 or above on Pro Football Focus:

As the Falcons have looked to not only cut salary but also become a younger team, they have moved on (for now) from a pair of veterans and leaders in the secondary, Keanu Neal and Ricardo Allen.
With the exits of those two players, the Falcons secondary is left with a talented, but young group of players that include Terrell, Kendall Sheffield, and Isaiah Oliver.
Among those guys, it seems that Terrell is the guy who could potentially take the steps to become a leader in the secondary, and he had a few thoughts on his role in his sophomore season when he joined John and Hugh.
“I don’t feel pressure, but I’m for going out there and leading the guys," says Terrell. "I can help guys out now that I’m not a rookie. I’m comfortable in the system with the Falcons and ready to lead anybody.”
