Atlanta Falcons defensive back Casey Hayward joined Dukes & Bell and talked about what his role could be in Falcons Defensive coordinator Deen Pees defense and his relationship with new teammate A.J. Terrell.
When asked about playing in a Dean Pees defense.
“I talked to him a few times actually, I’m excited I got to watch them play some last year because me and A.J. (Terrell) are real cool so I get to watch some of his games, I watch some of his film critique. I try to get better off the film of some of the guys around the league, he’s one of the guys I watch,” Hayward said. “I like the defense, it’s a multi-defense, man, zone all different types of things. I think I can run whatever defense he wanna run, I can play inside, I can play outside so I’m excited for it.”
Hayward talked about his relationship with A.J. Terrell.
“We actually got the same agent, I’ve known A.J. over the last few years or so and he’s homegrown as well, he’s from Georgia as well. I kinda got to know about him even prior to having the same agent, from being at Clemson, them guys won a lot of games there, those guys played on TV a lot so you got to see the type of player he was then. What he’s morphed into right now, I feel like he can be night and day, top five corner in this league, I feel like he’s on the verge of becoming one of those elite guys. Last year he took a step to being one of those guys, hopefully this year it’s the same, he takes another step to being those guys that people put in the top five each and every year.”
