Atlanta Falcons radio analyst Dave Archer joined Dukes & Bell to preview the Falcons-Jets game and after the Titans had a successful day on the ground against the Jets could this be the week the Falcons run game finally gets going?
Archer talked about how the Jets defense has played so far this year.
“There’s two things that jump out to me, this is a defense we see the seven sacks and say wow they get after the passer. They’ve got thirteen sacks on the year, seven came last weekend, they’ve played four games so you do the math there, they haven’t been overly prolific in the other three games to get after the passes so are we over estimating what that was, maybe that matchup was good for the Jets,” Archer said. “But what I do see is their inability to stop the run game, they’re giving up one hundred and thirty yards on the ground in the run game and Derrick Henry touched them up for one hundred and sixty yards last week.”
“What better tape for Arthur Smith to watch than his former team that’s running the same offense that we’re running here in Atlanta that he’s gonna run against the Jets this weekend. Why not run the football, pound them with the run game, let’s get more of the run game going, play action off that.”
