The Atlanta Falcons have struggled in the red zone and despite a win on the road against Minnesota, there's been some criticism of the lack of big, explosive plays in the pass game, but 92.9 The Game Falcons Reporter Joe Patrick thinks those will come as Darnell Mooney works himself back closer to 100% from a preseason shoulder injury.
"They want to try to go downfield, but it hasn't been open. I think that Darnell Mooney, when you get him involved, you look at his skills, what he brings to the table, he's going to help generate that," says Joe Patrick. "He was leading the NFL for a good chuck of last season in 20+ yard plays and I think that Penix can do that same thing and hopefully more."
Darnell Mooney had 992 yards last season despite missing the final game of the year, and his 21 catches of 20 yards or more tied for 2nd in the entire league with George Kittle.
