Another week goes by, and Justin Fields is still a Chicago Bear. The only reason that this means anything is that it was widely assumed that something would have been done by last week. With only one week left until free agency starts, the Falcons are rumored to be in on signing Kirk Cousins if the Minnesota Vikings do not.
This move should make Falcons fans happy, as he is regarded as the best quarterback available prior to the 2024 season. This also means that the Falcons and owner Arthur Blank are in it to win right now. Cousins is seeking only two years, and is looking for upwards of $90 million, which the Falcons can afford, but they wouldn't have money left for much else in the free agent market. This means that the Falcons would have to nail their picks in the 2024 draft, which I'm sure that general manager Terry Fontenot is up for. With the 2024 combine in the books, and one week left before free agency starts, Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael talk about all of the Falcons options at quarterback.
