Atlanta Falcons kicker Younghoe Koo is most known for his prowess on a football field, Koo traded in his helmet for a Santa hat earlier this month when he helped bring some Christmas spirit to the children of Atlanta.
"Ready Set Fun," an indoor playground in Sandy Springs, served as the host for Koo's event where under-resourced children from the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta came to enjoy a fun evening with Freddie the Falcon and the Falcons cheerleaders. Each child had the chance to play in the beautiful facility, receive a Falcons "swag bag," and multiple toys to put under their Christmas trees.
"The holidays are all about giving," Koo said about the event. "I think everyone deserves to have a good holiday, whether you celebrate Christmas or not, it's the holiday season. It's important to me and I'm thrilled that we were able to make this happen."
25 different kids between the ages of six and 10 from The Boys and Girls Club were able to come to participate in his event.
"Being able to use my platform to have this event [is special] and I'm grateful to the people who made this event possible," he continued. "I play football on Sundays, but off the field, it's important to bring special moments -- especially during the holiday season. To be able to provide that by using my platform is awesome."
Koo has spent many years working with the organization, going back to his college days at Georgia Southern. He's also involved with Play60.
