Falcons Coach Raheem Morris said in his Monday press conference that the team would bring in an outside kicker to compete with Younghoe Koo for the role of Falcons kicker after Koo missed a 44-yard kick that would have sent the Week 1 loss to the Buccaneers into overtime and it appears that John Parker Romo is that player.

Parker Romo, who was 11-12 for the Vikings last season while filling in for an injured Will Reichard, had a long of 55-yards and his lone miss was from 43-yards, is from Peachtree City and attended Central Arkansas, Tulsa, and Virginia Tech collegiately.

Romo was an All-XFL kicker in 2023, and beat out a few other kickers initially to to added to the Falcons practice squad. His addition doesn't necessarily mean that Koo is out, but at-the-minimum a competition will be held.
