Earlier today The Morning Shift talked about what Atlanta Falcons position group they currently think is the weakest, the strongest, and the most improved, and they explained why they think the Falcons safety room is the strongest position group on the team and why Atlanta could have the best safety room in the NFL this season.

“The safety position to me when you look at an All-Pro and a guy who is a future All-Pro in my opinion in Xavier Watts is in such a good spot. You’ve got the best of both worlds when you talk about veteran leadership and youth. You’ve got different styles of players when you talk about the depth back there, and you have really a plethora of ways to be able to get it done on the backend of this defense, and I think Jeff Ulbrich is spot on. I think that this is an incredibly talented group back at safety.” Mike Johnson said

Atlanta Falcons Defensive Coordinator Jeff Ulbrich said that the Falcons safety room this year is “the best he’s been around”, and when you consider Jessie Bates III is a three-time second team All-Pro safety, including last season, Xavier Watts was a finalist for Defensive Rookie of the Year last year, and the Falcons also have DeMarcco Hellams and Sydney Brown in that room as depth pieces it’s hard not to believe that Atlanta can’t have the best safety room in the NFL this season.
