The Jeff Ulbrich led defense was the bright spot of the Atlanta Falcons last year, and Ulbrich’s secondary headlined by All-Pro Safety Jessie Bates, lockdown cornerback AJ Terrell, and rookie standout Xavier Watts was bolstered during April’s draft after the Falcons added what they hope to be another shutdown corner to cover the opposite side of AJ Terrell in his brother Avieon.
With a secondary that now consists of Bates, Watts, the Terrell brothers, Mike Hughes, and Billy Bowman Jr. whenever he returns from his torn achilles earlier today The Morning Shift explained why the Falcons could have the best secondary in NFL this upcoming season.
“I think you could talk about the third level as one of the better third levels in all of football if they play up to their potential.” Beau Morgan said
If you just go off of major stats like interceptions, forced fumbles, fumble recoveries, sacks, and things like that it doesn’t accurately depict how good the Falcons secondary is, but if you turn on the tape and watch for your own eyes you will see how good the Atlanta’s secondary actually is, and they’re only going to get better by adding Avieon Terrell to the mix.
