Falcons decision to sign Tua Tagovailoa to vet minimum was easy

Former Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa plans to sign a one-year $1.3 million-dollar veteran minimum deal with the Atlanta Falcons according to ESPN's Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter, and earlier today The Morning Shift explained why the decision to sign Tua was an easy one for the Falcons.

“This fits the scenario perfectly. He’s gonna get a chance to show whether or not Michael Penix can develop into the starter. We’re going to see that, you’re gonna have a quality backup, and hopefully they both stay healthy the entire year. If they don’t guess what, they probably got a top 10 pick.” Mike Johnson said

The Atlanta Falcons arguably got the best backup quarterback on the market, who arguably has the most upside, has had the best success in the league out of all the other backup quarterbacks that are free agents, other than Joe Flacco maybe, and the Falcons got him for the cheapest price you could possibly get him. If that’s not a good move then there’s no such thing as a good move.
