It was a disappointing end to the start of the 2025 NFL season for the Atlanta Falcons as they dropped their opener to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a final score of 23-20 after kicker Younghoe Koo failed to connect on a 44-yard field goal.
“I know some of you think, ‘well nothing’s going to happen,’ bull corn,” 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes said on Monday as he and cohost Mike Bell shared their thoughts on the Falcons loss and the missed field goal by Koo and why they believe Atlanta could possibly begin to search for another kicker to bring into the room.
Ironically, nearly minutes later, head coach, Raheem Morris, told reporters the team would be ‘looking at veteran kicking options outside the building,’ per 92-9 The Game’s Joe Patrick and while Koo’s future as Atlanta’s kicker in Week 2 against the Vikings has yet to be determined, the Falcons would be working out kickers this week.
“This is what good organizations do. Thank you,’ Dukes said as he explained why he believes Morris’ comments signal the Falcons having a sense of urgency in addressing concerns with their special teams. “Let’s not clown around and act like well we’ll go another year, we don’t need a Super Bowl, we can lose a few more games, our kicker didn’t live up to it. Bull crap,” Dukes exclaimed.
