Earlier this morning the Atlanta Falcons announced that the National Football League has announced that they will be one of the participating teams in the 2026 NFL Madrid game, and The Morning Shift gave their live reactions to the news as it broke while they were on the air
Atlanta will play in the second NFL game hosted in Madrid after the Washington Commanders and Miami Dolphins played at the Bernabéu in 2025. This will be the sixth time the Falcons have played a regular season game outside of the United States, and the club’s fifth trip to Europe—fourth in six seasons. Atlanta played in Toronto in 2013, London in 2014, 2021 and 2023, and Berlin in 2025. In total, 62 regular-season NFL games have been played outside the United States to date.
The Falcons opponent, along with date, kickoff time and ticket information, will be announced at a later date.
