Coming into the 2025 NFL season, the Atlanta Falcons were predicted to have one of the most explosive offenses with Michael Penix Jr. taking over as the starting quarterback and Bijan Robinson and Drake London as two of his primary weapons, however 10 games into the season, Atlanta sits at 3-7 and Penix Jr. is set to have season ending surgery to reconstruct a partially torn ACL.

“This is a team that’s looked at as underachieving,” ESPN senior NFL reporter, Jeremy Fowler said as he joined 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell to discuss how the national perspective on the Falcons has changed and the team’s performance this season has been considered a disappointment.

“There’s a lot of talent on the roster, it’s not perfect, I don’t anybody expected 13 wins, but expected progress,” Fowler continued as he explained the Falcons were expected to improve on their 8-9 record from a season ago. “We’re about to find out if this is just a really bad stretch that they’re going to turn around or if it’s a symptom of a bigger problem,” Fowler said of the Falcons and the remainder of their season.

“The onus is on Raheem Morris to get this turned around. I don’t think it’s a case where he’s lost the locker room, I just think it’s a case of them having difficulty closing games. There is talent to get it done,” Fowler said.
