When the Ravens and Lamar Jackson failed to come to a contract agreement this week and Jackson was non-exclusive franchise tagged, several NFL fanbases started salivating at the opportunity to have Jackson come play for their team, including the Falcons fanbase. It only took around fifteen minutes for several reports to come out from teams that were not interested, including the Falcons. We're not sure if these reports are factual or not, but let's assume that they are. This means that the falcons are likely going ahead with Desmond Ridder in the plans to be their starting quarterback. But for how long?

The Falcons have a great draft pick and a lot of money to spend, so assuming they are able to fill some necessary holes, they should have a pretty good team in 2023. Unfortunately for the Falcons second year quarterback, the Falcons having a successful 2023 campaign largely depends on him. This will be the third year for Terry Fontenot and Arthur Smith, so we're approaching "put up or shut up time", and the way that Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael put it: If the Falcons don't make the playoffs this season, it may be Desmond Ridder's last one.
