Enhancing Brain Health: Coach Q Shares Essential Tips

On the latest edition of "Fitness Friday" on The Rashad Richey Morning Show, personal trainer Coach Q discussed strategies for improving brain health and highlighted the significance of a well-functioning brain.

According to Coach Q, factors that negatively impact brain health include brain injuries, substance abuse, obesity, smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes, environmental toxins, and lack of exercise. He connected these issues to serious conditions like Alzheimer's disease and emphasized that managing these risk factors is crucial for maintaining cognitive function.


To promote brain health, Coach Q recommended several strategies: maintaining social connections, engaging in continuous learning, eating a balanced diet, and ensuring adequate sleep. He noted that while historical patterns of sleep typically included nine hours per night, modern lifestyles have reduced this to about six hours, which is insufficient for optimal brain function. He advised aiming for seven to nine hours of quality sleep.

Additionally, Coach Q highlighted the benefits of regular exercise, managing anxiety, and practicing meditation and gratitude. He explained that these activities can positively influence brain chemistry and overall mental health.

In conclusion, Coach Q discussed the innovative therapies available at his clinic, such as concussion protocols and frequency-specific microcurrent treatments. These therapies are designed to reduce brain inflammation and support cognitive recovery.
