Atlanta Falcons fans want the Falcons to draft an edge rusher yes, but not just any edge rusher, they want the Falcons to draft the best guy. Well if Marshall edge rusher Mike Green is there for the Falcons at 15 overall Atlanta wouldn’t getting the best guy, but would be getting the best guy behind Abdul Carter according to NFL Network Analyst and former Vice President of Player Evaluation for the New York Giants Marc Ross, and earlier today Marc told The Morning Shift why he has Mike Green as his second best edge rusher in this year’s NFL Draft.

“You see the stats and the level he played at, but you know it’s real, he played his best game against Ohio State, so if there’s any doubts just check out how he played against them and then he stepped it up at the Senior Bowl, but you know he just shows a variety of moves, the spin, the dip, he’s got some jolt in his hands especially in the run game when he takes on tight ends, so he would be an ideal pick if he’s there for the Falcons.” Marc said

Obviously it’s tough to know now what prospects will pan out to be productive NFL players, but for Mike Green he led the nation in sacks last season, had his best game against his toughest competition, made a splash at the Senior Bowl, and guys who have experience evaluating and scouting NFL talent think he’s the second best edge rusher in the draft, so even though there’s no guarantee Mike Green will be a good NFL pass rusher, there are a lot of signs pointing towards that.
