The Atlanta Falcons are in a unique and difficult situation as an NFL franchise. They have moved on from former Head Coach Arthur Smith, and they have seemingly moved on from both Desmond Ridder AND Taylor Heinicke at the quarterback position. Several coaches, including Bill Belichick, have already interviewed for the Head Coaching Position, but what do they do to fill the role of starting quarterback? Unfortunately for the Falcons, they played well enough in the regular season to land themselves outside of where the top three quarterbacks in the draft are projected to be drafted.
That means that they have to put a package together to move up significantly if they want to draft Williams, May, or Daniels, or sign a veteran quarterback. But there may be another option. ESPN's Mel Kuyper Jr threw out a possible trade scenario over the weekend that may not be as far fetched as it sounds: trade the eighth overall pick to the Bears for Atlanta's own Justin Fields. It may sound like a leap of faith, but bringing Justin Fields home may be exactly what he, and the Falcons need. Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael discuss this scenario and exactly how hard nailing this position is.
