Brad Hopkins: Falcons need to 'wreck the young QBs of the NFC South'

Adding a young pass rusher to the other free agents could create the pressure the Falcons have lacked for years

When former Pro Bowl offensive lineman Brad Hopkins joined The Abe-T-L Show on 92.9 the Game this past Saturday afternoon, he gave Abe and Falcons fans around the nation something to fantasize about.

“Can you imagine the mayor of Sackville (newly signed FA Calais Campbell) with his hand in the dirt and Tyree Wilson standing up outside of the tackle on the same side of the football,” Hopkins asked.

“That’s devastating for an offensive line,” emphasized Brad when explaining to Abe why he thinks the Atlanta Falcons should go with a possible “generational” defensive player with the No. 8 overall draft pick in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft.

Abe could only respond by saying, “A lot of Falcons fans would be very pleased.”

The first round of the NFL draft is set to begin this Thursday from Kansas City, and what the Atlanta Falcons will decide to do with their first round pick has just about every NFL analyst shrugging their shoulders.

“On my draft board, I have them wanting to wreck whatever young quarterback they will be facing in Carolina,” simply stated Hopkins when expanding on why he thinks the Falcons should draft a stud defensive player to add to the many free agents and returning players the Falcons have on the defensive front.

However, there are many projections and rumors that think the Falcons may shock the world and decide to go with an offensive player when they turn in the card to the NFL on Thursday night. When Abe asked Brad his opinion on an offensive player such as Texas RB Bijan Robinson, Brad was very complimentary of the young RB: “He is a cut above the rest.”

Where will the Falcons go on Thursday night?
