On Tuesday, the Atlanta Falcons held their introductory press conference for new head coach, Kevin Stefanski and while he may not have provided all the answers to some of the questions asked as he addressed the media, 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell shared thoughts on why they believe overall, they are “feeling better” about the Falcons hiring of Stefanski, however had mixed feelings about one particular answer.
“I didn’t necessarily know Mike, if I liked the answer, which he was completely honest about in who’s going to be calling plays because it’s something we talked a lot about,” Dukes said as he expressed having some feelings of concern after Stefanski announced during the press conference, new offensive coordinator, Tommy Rees would be calling the plays for the offense.
“The Tommy Rees thing is big because there are folks in our listening audience who have familiarity with him from his time at Bama,” Bell said as he explained he believes some fans are skeptic in regards to Rees being charged with being the play caller due to his time under Nick Saban as Alabama’s offensive coordinator, however noted he believes there was not a true “baseline” to judge Rees on due to the Crimson Tide’s quarterback issues early on during Rees’ time.
“We’ll all learn together,” Bell said as he and Dukes shared their thoughts on learning Rees would be the Falcons play caller.
