Most experts have predicted the Falcons to have one of the worst rosters in the NFL and many believe the Falcons will be in the running to have the worst record in the league.
However, there are some like Chad Brown, former Denver Bronco, who see potential in this new look Falcons squad. He joined the Abe Gordon, host of the Abe-T-L Show to discuss what the best case scenario for the Falcons could be this year.
Brown said, "If they were to get to nine wins this year, that would be very impressive." He went on to say that he believes Arthur Smith will get better as a coach and that the defense should be better with Dean Pees opening the playbook up more this season.
Having first-round pick, Drake London, healthy on opening week will also provide a boost to an offense that did not have a number one wide receiver on the roster last year.
Abe Gordon, on the other hand, did not share the same sentiment. Gordon voiced his concerns with the roster, pointing out that maybe AJ Terrell, who has being looked at as one of the best corners in the NFL, might be getting overhyped.
There was also a conversation about how Cordarrelle Patterson's production level will fall off. "He's been in the league for ten years, you think the Falcons are the first team to figure out how to use him?" said Gordon.
The jury is still out on the Falcons, but we will get our first peek behind the curtain and find out who this team actually is on Sunday.
