Seven games into the season and The Morning Shift has finally figured out what’s wrong with the Atlanta Falcons inconsistent offense, and it’s not Offensive Coordinator Zac Robinson’s play calling, it’s Robinson’s thin play book that has caused the inconsistency.
“I don’t even like calling it predictable, it’s not predictable, the playbook is just this thin.” Mike Johnson said
Mike finished his thought by talking about how he does think the Falcons do need to make a change at Offensive Coordinator, but doing it before the season is over would be pointless because they wouldn’t be changing the playbook midseason if they fired Zac Robinson.
“It’s the play book not the play calling. It’s the play book, and TJ Yates or [Ken] Zampese or whoever takes over, he’s going to be utilizing the same stinking play book. There’s nothing there, we run wide zone and duo, that’s it.”
At this point it feels like the Zac Robinson experiment has failed, and will be over at the end of the season. The only question is how many more performances like yesterday will it take to force the Falcons to move on from him before the season ends.
