CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Three people are missing and a man is dead after a partially submerged boat was discovered Wednesday morning in the Sanitary & Ship Canal on the Southwest side.
A boater notified police of the sunken vessel near Pulaski, prompting a search of the waterway by the Coast Guard, state and local police.
Illinois State Police said crews discovered a body in the water at the Forest View Marina at about 11:30 a.m.
They've identified him as 32-year-old Elmer Jimenez of East Chicago, Indiana.
Three people were still missing when the search was suspended at around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
