The 2019 Christmas Tree Has Arrived At Millennium Park

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- This year's official Chicago Christmas Tree was delivered Friday night to Millennium Park.

A giant flatbed truck carried the Colorado spruce to Millennium Park, before it was hoisted into place to prepare for decorating.

Dennis Pfaff is with Brightview Landscape Company, which cut down the tree, brought it to Millennium Park and erected it. He admits he has mixed feelings about cutting down such a magnificent tree but says it was becoming a problem for the homeowner who donated it.

The 55-foot-tall Colorado spruce came from the front yard of Gene Nelson of Elgin, whose tree bested dozens of others to be picked as Chicago's official Christmas tree.
