CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- There's no guarantee they'll play or be able to finish a full season, but the Big Ten Conference has released it's 2020 football schedule. It features 10 games for each school over 12 weeks, Sept. 3 to Nov. 21.
The Big Ten Championship Game is scheduled for Dec. 5.
Each team has two bye weeks. The league has two "open" dates in December. Equaling four weeks of schedule flexibility, in case of delay.
Football players will be tested for the coronavirus at least twice a week.
Northwestern opens its season at Pennsylvania State University, then hosts the University of Wisconsin on Sept. 12, the University of Illinois on Oct. 17, and the University of Michigan on Nov. 21.
Illinois starts on Thursday night Sept. 3 at home with Ohio State. Finishes at home against Penn State on Nov 21.
