(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Arby’s is not interested in “meatless” meat, the increasingly popular genre of food that simulates burgers or other types of animal flesh with perfectly calibrated plant-based parts.

“Universally, people know we’re supposed to eat vegetables every day,” Jim Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer for Arby’s, said in a news release. “But 90 percent of Americans don’t eat the recommended amount. So we said if others can make meat out of vegetables, why can’t we make vegetables out of meat?”

The “megetable” will not be available at Arby’s restaurants. Taylor claims the company will continue looking at the idea of meat-based vegetables.
