(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A 34-year-old Army reservist from Carpentersville is the third member of the U.S. armed forces to die from coronavirus.

— Military.com (@Militarydotcom) May 27, 2020He was recently married and had a daughter, Xoe. He had been in the Army Reserves for five years and was promoted to sergeant just last month.
On Monday, his 70-year-old mother died, also of COVID-19, according to posts on social media.
One man wrote on the tribute page of his obituary: "Simon touched our lives briefly, but in a very profound, positive way. Always respectful, trustworthy, and caring… He will live among us as long as he has a place in our hearts."
