CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Just over a week after a break-in at an Elmhurst home, police have recovered the stolen item that the family cherished the most.

Jim and Sue LaDeur lost several things in a home burglary on Dec. 10, and the one thing Jim LaDeur told WBBM Newsradio they wanted back was the ashes of their infant son Billy, who died five years ago when he was only 10 days old.

Now, Elmhurst Police say they have arrested a man believed to be the burglar and they've recovered stolen items, including the cremated remains of their son.

Police posted on Facebook, "We are hopeful that reuniting the remains with the family will help to bring them closure and peace."

Jim LaDeur told WBBM Newsradio last week that he and his wife had planned to bury Billy's ashes with them when they died.

"He lives in our hearts. He's with our family," LaDeur said.

"But...We have so little of our Billy. And this is what we have, to... take with us when we pass."
