CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago firefighters had to take on the cold as they fought a house fire early Sunday morning on Chicago's West Side.
Crews that responded to the fire in Austin near Iowa St. and Long Ave. at around 1:30 a.m.found frozen hydrants, said Deputy district fire chief Curtis Hudson.
However, they were able to put it out and no one was hurt.
Hudson said the fire began in the attic of a two-and-a-half story frame home and spread from there.
It's not clear how many units are in the building but 10 people are temporarily homeless because of the fire.
The fire department is investigating the cause.
